Skis: The famous Blackcrows Orb Freebird. Little needs to be said about them but they are light weight, easy to tour with and incredibly reliable in the back country. This is a very light-weight ski that is great for long touring days and hut-to-hut expeditions. despite being very light, they are reliable in icy conditions compared to similar skis. Bindings: Dynafit Speedturn 2.0. These are a light weight race binding with no brakes. They come with leashes that connect the toe piece to your ski boots. If you have not used this mechanism before, remember, do not take the leash off until the ski has been removed from your foot...nobody wants to chase a ski down the mountain! Poles: Scott S4 touring poles. In this package ski-crampons (Dynafit) and bespoke skins (Blackdiamond Mohair) are supplied. Boots: Scarpa Maestrale RS. A very stiff touring boot meaning that you can generate a lot of power into the ski without the boot flexing too much. Rated 130 stiffness (although more like a 110​/​120 alpine boot). The sole length is 314mm and have full Vibram soles.
